Idea's For A Romantic Night In This Valentine's
If you're in need of a few last minute idea's to set the tone for a romantic night in this Valentine's then you've come to the right place, in this post I want to share a few little idea's that I use to help set a more romantic mood to an evening at home.
It's honestly such a pet peeve of mine seeing girls getting treated incredibly on Valentines by their partner but not reciprocating it back, as I honestly believe that it's so important to be soppy and spoil your man because they truly deserve it and we should be showing them as much appreciation as they show us on Valentine's - unless neither of you like Valentine's, of course - and all year round for that matter!
"..I honestly believe that it's so important to be soppy and spoilt your man because they truly deserve it.."
My partner will be working on Valentine's - as it is mid-week - so I won't see him until the afternoon/evening and he'll have work the next day, which is why we usually choose to have just a romantic evening in and honestly we are so much more comfy at home anyway!
So for that reason this post will be shaped around that, just focusing on the evening of Valentine's and not the whole day, as most people in regular jobs will probably be working during the day anyway or perhaps their partner will be.
Leave Cute Notes Around The House
Start by leaving cute little notes around the house letting them know how much you love and appreciate them!
Leave them in the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen cupboards etc.
Make Sure He/She Is Relaxed
If you know when your partner is due home you can surprise them with having a bath ran for when they get in.
Add a few bubbles and some candles around the room to help add a more relaxing feel.
Order In Food / Cook A Meal
While your partner is getting clean and relaxed in the bath, order in their favourite food or cook them a meal.
Don't forget the drink's, it is Valentine's!
Set The Table & Room
After ordering the food or starting to cook, begin setting the table with cute place mats and decorations ready for dinner.
Add a few candles, petals and heart-shaped goods to the table and also add cute photographs and light's around the room!
Watch A Movie
Once food has arrived or has finished cooking, set it out on the table - your partner should be done in the bath now, I don't know how long they like to be in there - and pick a movie that is perfect for Valentine's and one you will both want to watch!
Finish The Night...
Once you've enjoyed a lovely meal and watched a movie, you now have the rest of the night to exchange Valentine's cards and gifts - if that is something that you do - and do whatever else it is you want to do, I'm sure some of you girls will be looking incredible and wearing something a little sexy! - You know what I'm taking about! ;)
The Decor
Decor is definitely a very personal choice, some item's that I may like and choose may not be what someone else like's and vice versa, but I'm hoping just to give a little inspiration of idea's that you could tailor to your own likes and tastes, so below is a small list of items and idea's for setting the tone for more romantic feeling decor.
Heart-shaped bowls filled with sweets and chocolates. (Or salsa dips!)
Heart-shaped lights.
Fake rose petals.
Heart-shaped confetti & beads.
Heart-shaped candles.
'Love' Ornament.
(Notice the slight theme of heart-shaped item's hah!)
The Movie
There is such a diverse range of films available that can be watched as Valentine's movies that there really is something for everyone out there and I'm sure you know the type of movie you plan to watch on Valentine's - if you plan on watching one at all that is - but for those of you in need of a little inspiration for that perfect night-in movie I've written a small list of films I personally think would be perfect for Valentine's.
Mr & Mrs Smith.
The Wedding Singer.
Knocked Up.
Fifty Shades.
Love Actually.
Crazy, Stupid Love.
Sex Tape.
Dirty Dancing.
The Notebook.
Just Go With It.
You can always tailor these idea's to your own plans and likes, add or change things etc.
And why not do this for a Galentine's night with the girls - you don't need a man to for a cute night in!
What are you doing for Valentine's this year, do you have anything planned? Let me know in the comment's!
However you plan on spending Valentine's - with a partner, friends, family or alone - I hope you all have a wonderful day surrounded by love and happiness - even if that does mean feeding yourself chocolate on the couch!
