High-Street / Drugstore Haul
In today's post I'm going to show you some of the recent items and products that I have grabbed from Primark, Superdrug, Asda and Wilko's on my latest shopping trip.
I wanted to share with you all some items and products that I picked out, as-well as letting you know the general reason why..
Here is a round up of my latest purchases.
Starting with Wilko's, as I have the most items from there, but probably the most random of the bunch, lets begin.
Very simple and inexpensive, I brought a new headband, as I had lost mine when moving into our current house and as someone who is always trying to keep my hair out of my face, especially when doing my make-up, it was a 'must-have' item when I saw it, as I had forgotten every other time! It cost around £1.
Again, simple, inexpensive and a little random, I brought two face cloths... I mean, who doesn't need to buy and replace them every so often? And at only 30p, I wasn't complaining!
I brought another headband, this time one for the bathroom, to keep any face washes or creams out of my hair when doing my skincare routine morning and night. It also cost around £1.
A very impulsive buy, but as I don't already own one, I had to buy myself a pin-tail comb. Personally I think it will be great when curling my hair, and it was only around 50p, bargain!
Completely not to do with beauty or fashion, I grabbed some interdental brushes, they are a must have in my household and are re-purchased as soon as they have ran out, as they really are the perfect little brushes to get right in-between all of your teeth.
Good hygiene is honestly a must!
Getting more into the beauty products now, I thought I would grab this L'Oreal Paris - Triple Active multi-protection day moisturiser and put it to the test.
It say that it is going to hydrate, protect and illuminate, all in one, and when I saw that, I knew I had to try it out and really see how and if this product works, and I'm excited to try it.
Next from Wilko's, I brought the Essence Cosmetics - Soft & Natural long lasting foundation.
I am a huge fan of the brand and there will be a post dedicated to Essence foundations coming soon!
The last items I brought from Wilko's were these two Essence Cosmetics liquid lipsticks, I went with two very different colours to try out, a nude and a pink, my go-to colours.
As a lover of other lip products from this brand, I can't wait to try these out.
The nude. 03 - Almost Real.
The pink. 06 - Make A Statement.
Next we will look at what I got from Primark, as I feel like doing the shop with the most items to the shop with the least.
The first thing that I picked up from Primark were these gorgeous pinky-nude flats, that I also got for a complete bargain, on sale, for only £3!
I love the colour of them, they are flat, which is great for me and my legs and they are also a gorgeous suede material.
Honestly, I think they will be a go-to pair of summer shoes this year for me.
Since we are on shoes, the next item that I picked up were these absolute gorgeous pair of brown suede lace-up heels, I honestly fell in love as soon as I saw them and I cannot wait to have somewhere to wear them.
The next thing that I grabbed, was this plain black bodysuit top, which I am in love with.
I really like this style of top / clothing, and I definitely plan to get this in more colours.
The only down-side, the hanger had the wrong size on, so I picked this up 2 sizes bigger... I will either try it on or take it back and get it in the correct size, I will let you all know how that goes.. haha!
Then, I grabbed this very plain, but still gorgeous white top, there are no patterns or detailing on the top itself, which is what I was going for, and it also isn't 'figure-hugging', just keeping it minimalist with simply a little silver detail on the straps of the top.
(Ps. Sorry for the creases.. It had been in a bag, haha!)
Then of course, moving on from clothing, I brought myself a set of 'play-jewellery' rings, not rings for on a day-to-day basis, but just to add an accessory every now and then to an outfit, in jewellery form.
And then, the last thing from Primark, was this gorgeous 'play-jewellery' necklace, it is huge and has so much detail, it really is beautiful, but again, not for day-to-day use, unless you want that horrid green line on your skin, as most people get that from 'fake' jewellery.
But I really cannot wait to wear this and begin styling it with loads of outfits!
Last, but of course not least, lets look at the items that I picked up from Superdrug, and the only product that I grabbed from Asda.
Starting with Superdrug, the first thing I had to pick up, was this Maybelline New York - Lash Sensational mascara, as I had just ran out, a few days before this shopping trip and needed to re-stock it!
As I was drawn in by all the pretty colours, I then grabbed myself a Maybelline New York - Vivid Matte Liquid, in the shade 05 - Nude Flush, as I have heard a mixed review of these and had to try them out for myself and see how they work out for me personally.
The next item I picked up was this Makeup Revolution - Ultra Face Base Primer.
I haven't actually heard much about this product, but I love the Makeup Revolution eye-shadow palettes a lot, and think they are great for their price, so I figured, why not, and picked this up to try out, as having a good but affordable primer is really great, as not everyone wants to spend £40/£50 on a primer and drugstore options can be incredible if you pick the right ones.
The last item that I picked up when in Superdrug, was this Makeup Revolution - Vivid Baked Highlighter, in the shade Peach Lights.
As soon as my eyes landed on this, it was in my hands! I honestly think it is my favorite highlighter shade, I just really hope that it looks as good on skin as it looks in the packaging!
Then, the very last item of this haul, and the only item from Asda, I picked up this tea tree 3-in-1, mask, scrub and cleanser.
It claims to be for oily / blemish prone skin, which I would say is definitely me, and it also claims that it will help reduce shine and reduce the appearance of blemishes, which is why I cannot wait to try this out and really put it to the test.
The fact that it is also both a mask and a scrub is so useful, as it saves me buying two products and you feel like you are really getting your money's worth.
